1) Come visit us or look at our website, and find a pet that you would like to adopt. 2) Come into the shelter and fill out our 24-hour hold Application for adoption. This will include the name and phone number of your landlord if you are a renter.
3) Meet with an adoption counselor for an interview prior to finalizing the approval of your application. Once approved, you will be given a 24-hour hold on the selected animal(s) and the date and time for adoption. 4) Return to the Humane Society to complete the adoption process. All animals go to the vet to be spayed/neutered at 8 weeks. Participating vets give 50% discount off the surgery. The Heritage Humane Society will transport the animal to the veterinarian for spaying/neutering, and you may pick up your pet directly from the vet's office. 5) FEES ARE AS FOLLOWS AND INCLUDES: (Cash and Visa/ MasterCard Only)
** The Feleuk/FIV test, Heartworm test and microchip are non-refundable. The cost will be deducted from the adoption fee, in the event you return the animal within 7 days of the adoption.**
6) After you have taken your pet home, you will receive a follow-up phone call from one of our technicians or trained volunteers. If you are having behavioral issues or have a general concern about your animal's behavior, do not hesitate to contact the shelter for assistance. If you are unhappy with your pet or no longer want your pet, you must return him or her to the shelter . The adoption fees, however, are normally non-refundable unless returned within seven days from the date of adoption. Any questions regarding our adoption process or policy? Please contact us at here. The Heritage Humane Society reserves the right to do a home check - either before or after the adoption has taken place - at the management's discretion. |
