Critter's Camp- Click here to see pictures!

HHS's first annual Critter's Camp was an absolute success! The 7 to 10 year old participants came to the shelter every day from July 21st to July 25th. The campers met with guest speakers and HHS animals to learn about responsibility, respect, and kindness to companion animals. They participated in games, projects and activities to help raise their awareness about our furry friends. We are looking forward to our next Critter's Camp next year!

We held our first Dog Swim on Sunday, September 14, 2008 from 2pm to 4pm at the Williamsburg Country Club. Dogs had a great time swimming and jumping through the kiddie pool! We are already looking forward to next year's open dog swim!

Happy Hour for Hounds- Click here to see pictures!

We held our first Happy Hour for Hounds on Friday June 20th from 6pm to 8pm. Many dogs brought their owners to enjoy delicious dog wine from "Bark Vineyards," along with a large seleciton of other various treats. Dog owners also got their fill with people food, as well. Pools were set up outside for dogs to cool off in, or just splash around! Many people took advantage of our offer, and were escorted by HHS dogs! See Pictures Here.

Bark In the Park 2008 -Please visit the Bark in the Park Website

On Saturday, April 26th our 8th Annual Bark in the Park was held at New Quarter Park in Williamsburg.  Over 700 people attended our wonderful event this year.  Walkers and sponsors this year raised a large amount of money for our needy animals at the Shelter.

We extend our thanks to all Sponsors, Rescue Groups, vendors, walkers, and volunteers.   Walk participants were able to browse through the festival booths and learn about the dedicated work of local and regional animal Rescue groups.  Vendors offered food for dogs and humans, fun animal related items and offered some fun give-a-ways for our Walkers.  This year, with great success, we added a "Cake/Dog Cookie walk"  and we look forward to more fun and games next year!

Mark your calendars for April 25, 2009 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at New Quarter Park in Williamsburg!

Spay Day USA

February 28th was SPAY DAY. Spay Day USA is the Doris Day Animal Foundation's national campaign to save the lives of homeless animals through the spay or neuter of our pets and feral cats. Spay/neuter is an act of love - for our pets, our community, and for millions of helpless, homeless animals who need our help. HHS provides our SNIP services each month for qualifying families.

Wellness Expo

The Heritage Humane Society was proud to sponsor an exhibit at the Wellness Expo held on Saturday May 3, 2008. The expo spotlighted a variety of healthy living products with over 144 displays. The HHS brought adoptable pets to the expo and provided beneficial pet education to support our ongoing mission.
